Lets make 2017 the best show ever!
Castle Combe steam rally was founded in 1985. The rally is held at Castle Combe Racing Circuit in Wiltshire. The rally was originally held in a small area of the pits at the circuit, but over the years has grown to occupy not only the pits but a large part of the circuit itself and has become one of the largest steam rallies in Wiltshire.
Our event is run by a small team of enthusiasts with several founder members still present. The aim of the committee is to provide entertainment for all the family.
In the years the rally has run, many charities have benefited from donations. Perhaps the most notable have been CLIC and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance appeal.
For the second year our charity is the Jessie May Trust, they provide a children's hospice at home service by focusing on quality of life and care while supporting children with life limiting conditions and providing continued support to the families, including through bereavement.
There have been many varied attractions that include the Royal British Legion's D Day celebrations parade, with the Royal Navy Field Gun Display Team, Jez Avery Stunt Show and in 2016 we had Ken Fox's famous Wall of Death.
Exhibits and attractions vary from rural crafts, models, fairground organs, fairground rides and stalls to sheep dog displays. The displays of vintage traction engines, both full size and miniature, classic and vintage cars, vintage motorcycles, vintage tractors, vintage commercial vehicles, vintage military and vintage stationary engines has grown immensely over the past few years to over 1,000 exhibits, not to mention the ever popular craft and model tent.
